Overall, Word Search and Learn is a good app to have handy.
The app ‘Scribe Japanese – Master Vocabulary’ is definitely not for causal learner. The user should first read the Help, else they might feel lost. The content is thorough and best resource for any serious student of Japanese. The app will help you learn common Japanese words spoken in Japan, their sounds and real life usage. A good resource for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) exam.
This app is similar to other apps, which we have reviewed too. See:
- Scribe Cantonese – Hong Kong Master Vocabulary,
- Scribe Korean – Master Vocabulary,
- Scribe Chinese – Master Vocabulary,
- Scribe Origins – Remember the Kanji & Hanzi of Chinese and Japanese Characters Study App and
- Scribe Japanese – Master Vocabulary.
As a serious resource and for proper learning, this app is the as good as it can get.
As it is focused on thorough learning, there is not geared towards being fun or gamification.
The overall experience is good. Though, the learning curve is bit high. The display name of the app is ‘Scribe’ and it does get lost among other apps by the same developer as they are also named Scribe. Maybe the name should be changed to ‘Scribe Japanese’.
