Kids are always fascinated by fairy tales. These stories, though fictional, also contain some underlying meanings and also serve as moral stories apart from being a enchanting tale. Reading books is always a very good habit which must be encouraged from a very tender age. Gifting children fairy tales is a great way to ensure that they soon get into this habit.
Here is a list of some of the most beautiful fairy tales of all times:
1. Cinderella: The story of a simple girl who wins over a prince.
2. Rapunzel: A princess trapped in a high tower oblivious of the fact that she is a princess. Who will save her?
3. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: The magic mirror proclaims Snow White as the fairest, frightened she flees into the forest and befriends seven loving dwarfs. What happens next?
4. Beauty and the Beast: Can the Beauty really turn the Beast?
5. The Ugly Duckling: Shunted by her peers for being different can the duckling find her place?
6. Alladin: The Arabian Nights tale of a thief who ultimately wins over the kingdom.
7. The Gingerbread Man: An ideal story for the kids.
8. Sleeping Beauty: Who will wake up the beautiful princess from her indefinite sleep, and how?
The app size is large (109MB) and may take some time to download.
Kids love to listen to stories. The visual style in which this app uses the ‘Read To Me’ feature to help kids follow written word too. A good start towards helping them get interested in reading. The app also teaches your little ones about different musical instruments and allows them to fiddle with the instruments.
When you narrate a story to your kid and you feel that your child is getting more & more involved in it, certainly he/she is having fun. This app has the same effect. It gives kids a wonderful and endearing experience and they enjoy the story while getting involved with the main character. Watch out, they may love strumming that guitar endlessly!
Light chirping of birds & croaking of frogs in the background, artistically captivating hand drawn scenes, soothing and clear voice of narrator and an interesting storyline, well, all these elements augment the user experience of the app to a great extent. The other features of the app also contribute greatly in making it a perfect story app for kids. Clicking on the various objects causes them to behave in fun ways. There is more to a screen than just a page from a storybook.
We have some suggestions that can be considered for the next release:
1. The selection of ‘Read To Me’ options is bit confusing for first time user. Maybe a visual feedback of a check mark next to selected option will help
2. The swipes are too broad. They can be shorter so turning the pages is easier.
Overall, it is a refreshing app that fosters learning and reading while giving a unique & fun experience to children.
